SCHOLARSHIPS & BURSARIES-Graduating students are reminded to pick up applications for external bursaries that will be awarded at the graduation ceremony in June.  Applications can be picked up from Mr. McQueen in the Guidance Office.  Deadline to submit completed applications is next Friday, June 1st.

SAINT MARY'S UNIVERSITY, GRADE 11-If you are currently in Grade 11 and you are planning to attend Saint Mary's University after you graduate from high school, here is an opportunity for you to consider.  Each summer, Saint Mary's hosts Grade 11 students from rural Nova Scotia high schools so that they get an opportunity to visit the campus.  This summer, the event takes place on July 14th and 15th.  Please see the poster outside of the Guidance Office for more information.  If you are interested in attending this event, please talk with Mr. McQueen to get more details.

RUN CLUB-There will be running club practice today at lunch instead of Friday. 

BIG COVE-Grade 9s who are going to Big Cove - bring your Grand in the Hand tickets into Ms. Boutilier ASAP and your bingo prizes!

CIRCUS TRAINING-On Wednesday, May 30th the Healthy School Community committee and the Halifax Public Libraries will be hosting a circus training session in the gym at lunchtime.  Sign up today outside the gym to learn the basics of partner acrobatics, spinning plates, juggling, hand balancing on canes, and hoops! Space is limited so be sure to register early.

TRACK & FIELD-A mandatory meeting of all Track & Field athletes traveling to Regionals Friday or Saturday will be held in the gym today at 12:10pm.

CHESS CLUB-Chess Club takes place beginning at 12:20pm during lunch break in Mr. Christian's room; 2211. Be there or be "square!"

MRHS BOOK CLUB-MRHS Book Club takes place in the Library every Wednesday during the lunch break.

TABLE TENNIS-Table Tennis will run Monday evenings from 6:30-9pm.

REPORTING AND EXCUSING STUDENT ABSENCES-If a parent or guardian wishes to report and/or excuse a student absence, please call the attendance line – available 24 hours a day – by dialing the main school telephone number and pressing “1.” Written notes will also be accepted at the main office. In order for an absence to be excused, we must receive notice within three school days of the absence. Emails and calls to the main office line will not be accepted.

HELP KEEP OUR HALLWAYS CLEAN-Students are asked not to leave their book bags and/or knapsacks in the hallways unattended. Food and drinks are permitted in the cafeteria and outside only, please be sure to utilize the recyclable and garbage bins available throughout the building. We appreciate your cooperation in this matter!

SIGN IN-All students are reminded to sign-in at the main office if you arrive after the 8:50am bell, which marks the beginning of first class. Even for Senior High students, these will only be "excused" if we have a parent's sign-in signature, phone call, or a note.

ELEVATOR USE-Unless a student has permission from the Main Office and a specific need to use the elevator, it is off limits for student use.

LOST & FOUND-Please check the Lost & Found outside the Cafeteria for any missing items. Smaller items such as eyeglasses, jewellery or electronics may be at the Main Office.
